Resolving the “Mailbox Full” Error

When your mailbox reaches its storage limit, the server will issue a warning to your mail client, indicating that your mailbox is full. This “mailbox full” error means that your mailbox has exceeded its memory size limit and can no longer receive any messages. Although you might still be able to send emails, you won’t be able to receive any new ones until this issue is resolved.

Common Causes of a Full Mailbox

  1. High Volume of Emails:
    • Promotional and marketing emails
    • Spam emails
    • Service notifications for new products or information
  2. Large Attachments:
    • Emails with large attachments sent or received
  3. Inbox Overload:
    • A full inbox due to numerous messages

Steps to Resolve a Full Mailbox

  1. Unsubscribe and Block:
    • Unsubscribe from promotional emails and block unwanted newsletters or email lists.
  2. Delete Junk and Spam:
    • Mass delete junk and spam emails.
  3. Empty Unused Folders:
    • Empty folders that are not in use.
  4. Clean Up Inbox:
    • Organize and clean up your inbox by deleting unnecessary emails.

Increasing Your Mailbox Quota

After cleaning up your mailbox, you may need to increase the mail quota. Follow these steps:

  1. Login to cPanel:

  2. Navigate to Email Accounts:

  4. Manage Storage:
    • Click “Manage” next to the chosen email account.
  5. Adjust Quota:
    • Scroll down to the STORAGE section.
    • Enter the new mailbox quota size or check the checkbox for “Unlimited” to set it to infinite.
  6. Save Changes:
    • Click “Update Email Settings” to save the new quota settings.
